ADAHK and DAiSY members collaborate on Windows to the World
At this year’s DAiSY FEST at G Live, Windows to the World brought together artists from five Surrey-based DAiSY member organisations with an inclusive art studio in Hong Kong – ADAHK. Though separated by geography, The Grange, Art Venture, Halow, Creative Response and Bloomin’ Arts and ADAHK each explored the same simple yet powerful idea: the view from their artists’ windows.
The exhibition invited audiences to pause and consider how windows act as both openings and boundaries. They let us look outward, yet they also frame, filter, and sometimes distance us from the world beyond. The artworks revealed this duality beautifully. From bustling city scenes to quiet gardens, from abstract impressions to detailed landscapes, the pieces reflected a wide range of styles, situations, and approaches, each shaped by personal experience and place.
A standout feature of the curation was the way light shone through the acetate artworks, casting glowing colours and shifting shapes across the space. This illuminated effect echoed the exhibition’s themes—how perspective, light, and position can transform the way we see.
Beyond the visual impact, the artists’ works carried shared threads: navigating accessibility, negotiating visibility, and reflecting on how society sees and responds to difference. Though the views depicted came from opposite sides of the world, the emotions behind them felt universal.
