Early September, we did something quite unusual (but brilliant) for DAiSY… we flew out to Hong Kong!
We went visited Hong Kong to deliver the first iteration of our Art From Every Angle Train the Trainer’s Masterclass. Working over 6 days with a group of 15 participants at Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, we led an intense training course looking at installation art through the lens of inclusive programming.
Participants learnt about the core theories behind installation and public art, as well as how to programme such large and complex programmes with inclusivity and accessibility at the forefront.
At the end of the course, participants created their own installations within the Hong Kong Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre. These installations were on display for two weeks after the course, available for all visitors to the building to enjoy.
We had the most incredible time and were so impressed with everyone’s amazing installations, which were all available to explore for an extra fortnight after the course. A HUGE thank you to ADAHK for inviting us over and making this happen! We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!
