A major new exhibition exploring how socitey’s understanding and support of people with learning disabilities has changed over the last 150 years.
There is a person behind the picture, and it takes Us to find Them. Us & Them, a major new exhibition of photography and film opening at The Horton Arts Centre, Epsom, on 3 September.
The exhibition is the culmination of a two-year National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported project led by Freewheelers Theatre & Media. It brings together historic asylum photographs with contemporary portraits co-created by disabled artists using historic photographic techniques, exploring how people with disabilities have been represented over time.
