Time & Place: Site-Specific Training
Time & Place: Site-Specific Training with Geraldine Pilgrim
DAiSY’s collaboration with Geraldine Pilgrim and West Horsley Place for a Site-Specific Arts Project.
DAiSY is thrilled to unveil a new collaboration with internationally renowned artist and theatre practitioner Geraldine Pilgrim, alongside the historic venue West Horsley Place, for an exciting new initiative: Time & Place: Site-Specific Training.
About the project
This innovative project will offer site-specific design training to DAiSY’s member organisations and the disabled artists they support. Through a practical series of workshops, participants will develop skills in site-responsive art-making, culminating in a photography exhibition at DAISY-Fest 2025, held at G Live, Guildford, documenting the work created.
Workshops will take place across DAiSY member venues including Freewheelers, Head2Head Sensory Theatre, and The Meath Epilepsy Charity, as well as on-site at West Horsley Place. Participants will delve into the rich heritage of West Horsley Place, exploring its stories and spaces through the lens of site-specific performance design. These workshops will result in a collection of striking, thought-provoking performance installations, captured in a stunning photographic showcase.
This ambitious project not only champions inclusive creative practice but also provides real-world training in the creation of site-specific art. It is a celebration of place, history, and the artists to reimagine spaces in compelling new ways.
DAISY-Fest 2025 promises to be a landmark moment in Surrey’s cultural calendar — and the exhibition of photographs from this project is set to be one of its many highlights.

West Horsley Place
West Horsley Place is a Grade I listed medieval manor house and estate, dating back to 1425, with roots that stretch to Saxon times. The West Horsley Place Trust, a heritage charity, is dedicated to restoring the house, gardens, and its 380-acre estate.
Their mission is twofold: to preserve and care for these remarkable buildings and landscapes, and to use them as a platform for arts, culture, and education. Through a variety of learning programmes and events, they aim to engage both local and wider communities, enhancing wellbeing and fostering creativity.
