Vicky Barber-Crimes

I am a Deaf visual artist, art workshop facilitator, art curator, artist mentor and BSL consultant based in Southampton, Hampshire.

In my art practice I work intuitively to create expressive and colourful abstract acrylic canvas paintings. I develop my work style in an organic process of experimenting with different art forms techniques, exploring the processes of fluid paint, mixed media, lino-print, collages, clay etc. I often use motif of hand shape form in my work to reflect my deaf identity and communication as British Sign Language user.

I like to create in fun relaxing therapeutic methods for creative well-being and share the practice with other people by facilitating workshops. Passionate about BSL accessibility in arts and creative well-being for the deaf community, I often travel across UK to showcase, sell my artworks and facilitate creative workshops in BSL at deaf events.
