Chindencoy

Chindencoy is a Surrey-based multi-disciplinary artist and illustrator whose work is a vibrant exploration of truth, lived experience, and personal triumph. A graduate of the University of the Arts London, Chindencoy completed her Foundation year in pottery at Chelsea College of Art before earning her degree in Bookbinding and Illustration from the London College of Communication.

Her expansive practice spans painting, pottery, textiles, and writing, heavily inspired by the organic rhythms of the natural world. This deep connection to nature is further informed by her studies in phytotherapy (herbal medicine), which weaves themes of botanical healing and growth throughout her work. Additionally, her studies in counselling have profoundly influenced her later pieces, grounding her creative process in psychological depth and empathy.

Guided by the philosophy that “Colour is my mind’s compass,” Chindencoy uses a bold, bright palette to navigate life’s highs and lows. After being diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD), art became her ultimate therapeutic sanctuary and a space for deep reflection. Her rich, visual narratives are heavily layered with archetypes and symbolism, offering viewers an intimate glimpse into resilience, mental well-being, and the universal human experience.
