Time & Place Site-Specific Training culminates with an exhibition
DAiSY is delighted to share the successful conclusion of Time & Place: Site-Specific Training, a unique project in collaboration with internationally renowned artist and theatre practitioner Geraldine Pilgrim and the historic West Horsley Place.
Over the past months, participating member groups – Freewheelers, Head2Head Sensory Theatre, and The Meath Epilepsy Charity — have taken part in a series of workshops exploring the art of site-specific design. Using the architecture, stories, and atmospheres of different spaces as inspiration, participants developed striking performance-based installations which were then captured in a professional photography series.
The project culminated in a powerful exhibition, bringing together images of the artworks alongside photographs of members engaging with them. The exhibition not only celebrated the creativity of disabled artists but also highlighted the power of collaboration and the potential of place-based storytelling.
At its heart, Time & Place was about more than just training: it offered opportunities for skill-building, confidence growth, and imaginative exploration. Participants discovered how history and environment can shape art, and in doing so, created works that reimagined familiar spaces in new and thought-provoking ways.

Geraldine Pilgrim director/designer/Installation artist and educator, works across theatre and the visual arts and is known for her evocative participatory site-specific performances and installations, which create a contemporary dialogue with occupied and empty buildings, landscapes, and historic houses.
She is Artistic Director of Geraldine Pilgrim Performance Company that creates socially engaged participatory site-specific and theatre performances working in collaboration with young people, older people and arts and community groups supported by a professional creative team.
